Quite often I have a fairly simple qu that doesn’t really fit in the Moan thread but doesn’t justify a whole thread of its own. So, here is a “quick qu” thread for all those random ponderings.

I’ll get the ball rolling. :)

Does anything know whether a charity shop can sell a coat that does not have a washing or fabric composition label? I have one to donate, but the labels were cut out as they flapped around and made the seam bulky. It also lacks a size label, but I assume that is not much of an issue as sizing is so all over the place these days as to be almost meaningless.

I don’t know but if the coat was good quality I wouldn’t have thought it would matter.

I see where you are coming from, just like they can't sell furniture that has no labels regarding fire

I will ask my sister. She’s volunteered at one of the Save the Children shops for year (other charity shops are available)

Oh, thank you very much, @Butterfly6. :blue thumb: I generally give to Age UK and they are pretty good about what they will accept. They carried on welcoming cassette tapes yrs after other charities refused these.

Over here it is the size mark that is needed. You could simply marker in an S M or L below the inside collar and that would work?

Here size has become meaningless. You could be a 10 in one shop and a 16 in another.

I buy a Size 10 M&S trousers. I am the same dimensions I was 30 yrs ago and I used to buy a Size 14 or even 16 from them then.

Yes, our sizing is all vanity labeled too. I thought you had mentioned size in your original post because it was meaningful. My bad...
