    Hi everyone,

I'm getting there slowly. Turning my attention to the rest of what I'm calling the woodland border. Eventually it will 2/3 small trees covering it but at the moment they are small and the border is pretty much sunny all day.

Anyone have any suggestions for planting around the bench area, or other areas tbh?

    Many thanks,

    Ed

If part of the border is sunny, you could try Rosemary, Miss Jessop's Upright, nice aroma, handy for barbecue's and good for bees. Or if you like grasses, some tall wafty Miscanthur might look good.
In the shady part under the tree, you might struggle to get things to grow but you could think about an evergreen 'winter box' (Latin name escapes me just now, sorry) which has strong perfume early spring and doesn't get out of hand.

Thanks Lizzie, I do love Rosemary.

I guess for a good few years most the western side of the order will be very sunny as the trees are still small. So sun loving plants should thrive in there at the moment. I guess I will have to modify the planting over time.
