There is a very sturdy ring in the front paving, possibly used by the previous owners to tether their horse, or perhaps a motorbike. :noidea:

Any ideas on how to remove it?

It's in such an awkward place that I can't even put a container next to it to lessen the tripping hazard. It's about 1m from fence, 1m from the bins and 1m from the front door.

    Thanks!

Cut it off with an angle grinder if it shows no sign of screwing out by putting a metal bar through it.

If you just want it flush to the paving, ask someone with an angle grinder to cut it flush.

Thanks! The ring doesn't look like it has any screwing mechanics, it's probably concreted in.

I'll a) find out what an angle grinder is and b) get someone to use it. :)

A quick edit, I googled angle grinder and now want one!

Where's your mythic soul, Selleri? Everyone knows that it's a magic ring that needs to be cloven by the mysterious, heavily engraved sword that you found in the attic, thus releasing a spell that will make you Queen of all the lands of the North East! Yea...and verily! :-)

On one of our walks from a previous house when the children were small, we used to pass a large metal ring set in concrete in the middle of some water meadows by the canal. OH used to tell the kids it was the plug for the canal system :heehee:

In the pale light of the New Moon, she walked slowly towards The Ring.

Night owls ceased to call. The night was warm and the air was very still. Not a leaf stirred.

Slowly, with trembling hands, she took out the ancient, old beyond old, angle grinder and looked up to the stars, letting out a deep breath.

              ONE is for one.

              TWO is for twins.

THREE is a mobile network provider so she passed that one off as rather mundane, powered the angle grinder up, hacked through the ring and hurried indoors to post the photos on interweb.

              :heehee:
