@Ergates Are you really still surprised at the BBC sending reporters and the support team on pointless and potentially dangerous trips? As for wasting licence payers money - that seems to be their main aim in life.

Does anyone else get fed up with all these pointless E mails from various delivery companies.
      ie. we have your parcel.
your parcel is on its way.
your parcel will be delivered today.
      we have delivered your parcel.
Its ok keeping you informed but this seems a bit too much to me.

I'm with you on that Pete.

I add to that...to the wrong house.

I have exactly that sort of situation going on at the moment - ordered some tiny wee lamps (for a car dashboard) last week and chose the 'standard, 3-5 day' delivery option.... it took 6 days for them to be dispatched, which they were on Tuesday and I then got the dreaded "We are waiting for your parcel" email from Evri (as in, Evri parcel lost or damaged) - - given that the total order cannot be more than a bog standard letter envelope worth in size, I have no clue why they didn't simply send it by Royal Mail (or Royal Fail, as they are also known); I've got another notification for my cider delivery, probably arriving tomorrow, being delivered by DPD (Delivering Parcels Dangerously)...

Evri are a nightmare here too. They very rarely deliver to the right address and we often wait three weeks for something to arrive.

Surely you're not going back to the boy racer era @Fat Controller ? And you probably won't see the cider, that will have been hijacked in transit.

A present I ordered for my daughter was delivered by Evri ( not by my choice) They left it in a ‘safe place’ ( their words) ie underneath her car outside her front door. Luckily she saw it before it was either stolen, or driven over.

We use Royal Mail 48 to send things and they are very good.

I've never really had any problems with Evri, or DPD.
The one I really don't trust is Yodel, they put my vacuum cleaner delivery in my neighbours dust bin, I even had a blind delivered by someone who lives about half a mile away, she said they threw it over her front fence.

We also have an excellent Evri driver here and RM seems to take forever.

We get all sorts of deleiverys, we're not to bad at getting our parcels as we get every body else as well even different postcodes, had a few parcels thrown over the fence as these are someone else's parcels because if i know that we're getting one i'm allways on the look out and the driver very rearly come's in because i'm out by the van sharply  just so they don't leave in in fuuny place's

My sister was telling me about an "online only" insurance company, when it came to renewal they wanted to move to another company, but couldn't contact them to stop auto renewal, there was no phone number or email address.

In the end they found an address so had to write them a letter. :dunno:

Having worked in the (real) insurance industry, I won't deal with any company that is only online or over the phone.
It may be more expensive, but a darn sight easier to deal with.

How many billions are lost by customers through auto-renewal? Another of the many things weighted in favour of companies.
