According to Deliveroo stats, the most popular food item delivered in 2024 in the UK was, eight boneless chicken wings from Wingstop, with a single whole cucumber being the 4th most delivered food item. Most of these stats are due to the vast amount of food deliveries in the London area.

Never heard of Wingstop, and I can live without cucumber, so perhaps that's why I've never had a delivery.

Huh? What's left to eat when you've removed the bones from a chicken wing?

You can buy a cucumber from most supermarkets and greengrocers.
            Duh!!

Actually, home cooked chicken wings (with herbs and garlic) are a favourite snack here.

That's why they come in packets of eight. One mouthful apiece.

I must admit I don't get the delivery thing. Some of our neighbours get things delivered. Does anyone know how much it costs? I've always been curious because here it is just a constant stream of illegal e-bikes flying past and I thought everyone was supposed to be penniless at the moment.
It reminds me of when I heard a politician say that they didn't believe we were in a recession until all the nail bars were closed.

Here, despite objections from just about every resident nearby, plus the council, they are building a new McDonald's. The objections were because there is already one about a mile up the same road and where the proposed junction is, it is very dangerous already. It turns out that the only reason permission was approved was because the council couldn't afford to continue the court battle to stop it. It seems this is part of the superchains play book and the reason that most get through despite heavy objections. They claimed that 40% of the menu was healthy, that it promoted exercise because people would walk there (despite it being a drive though) and it had a climbing frame. There is another proposed in an already heavily congested area of the city centre. It will go through despite already being surrounded by struggling restaurants that I'm sure will be killed off.

I presume it's that reconstituted meat, formed into the shape of a wing.
Stick a thick layer of brown sawdust on it and call it breadcrumbs.
A meal to die for, in more ways than one. :roflol:

There was something on TV about a female that would get a 2 pints of milk delived even that she live no more than 5 minutes walk from a shop, milk was around a £1-ish but when had she milk delived the cost was over £5 but she said that she would still have it delevied even because it costed more

Ah but 'a snack' is one thing. Regarding them as a meal, along with a pile of twigs that have never even remotely been connected with potatoes, I think not . And that's another thing....this recent fad for cooked potato skins in chain restaurants. So who gets the potato?
