The wood pigeons are very entertaining at the moment. They like to smooch and preen on the fence, and doze in a sunbeam on the grass.

This morning in an hour....a buzzard soaring over the garden, a sparrowhawk that nearly took our heads off and then a red kite flying very low over the garden. In between all of that we had 2 more brimstones and some speckled woods and one lone orange tip.

First Brimstone in the garden to actually settle, Erysimum Bowles Mauve attracts most butterflies.

Female blackbird with a beakful of food. She sat on that fencepost for a good ten minutes, clucking away softly, then disappeared into the laurel hedge from which I could still hear her clucking!

Saw two Orange Tips on a flower together. Couldn't get the camera out quick enough, but I expect they will be back.

"One swallow does not make a summer" but could 2? Saw 2 this morning while we were getting some cider from a farm. Lovely sight and lovely morning.

It's been so warm this afternoon I stayed out till after 6pm here which means I was late enough to see our first swallows swooping out of the "cave" where they nest and out and round the garden and pond. I expect they've been here a few days. Great to see them back again.

First Osprey, I wasn't expecting it so it caught me off guard and missed some decent shots.

Lovely to see the Ospreys Strongy. The male bird (named Harry) has returned to the Alyth substation today.

Happy little hoverfly on a daffodil. Seeing lots of these little guys. I also had a brief glimpse of a beefly on the patio this afternoon.

The blackbirds are singing more and the blue tights have been visiting. I heard a swab yesterday (seems early) but not today. Wondering if magpies or crows got it. Lots of bumblebees and hoverflies. No butterflies yet but very sunny, dry and warm.
