Hello Penny, I am happy you have enjoyed those windows so much.
I have to say the images don't do them justice. When the light comes through those windows and catches the etched areas and they produce the refracted spectrum of colour they are truly magical.
One of my favourite places which I am lucky enough to be able to visit regularly as although I live in Scotland my sister lives close to the Church so I visit while I am there.
I highly recommend a visit to anyone who can make it.
    One day Penny ?
Well I made it to Ontario.

Thats a handy little site Alice, it was only a couple of links to this one,

The Conduit, Sherbourne. The hexagonal building on the left of the picture. It used to be the monks wash room behind the abbey, but was moved into the town centre.

We removed the black sulphation build up, cleaned the outside, replaced some of the tracery & removed the cement pointing, re ponting with lime mortar.

Got an award for that one. :)

    Hey Alice,

I'm loving this site, its got pics of projects i've worked on all over the country. Good find.

Click on the above, then click auto to start the slideshow, first couple are just fields but it then goes on to Clarendon Palace, Henry IIs gaff, spent months & months consolidating the ruins there. Never saw anyone, its miles from anywhere, right in the middle of a huge estate.

Fabulous images Marley. Thank you for finding them - I could only find the ones I posted.
As I said to Penny, you really have to see those windows with the light coming through them - just magical.

    My middle name is Scott.

Mum told me she'd named me after Scott of the Antartic.

I was doing some emergency protections on Holcombe church near Bath, someone had nicked the lead off the roof so we had to secure a tarpaulin over the tower roof.

I was on the ground, holding on to one of the ropes & I stepped onto one of the graves.

I said a silent apology for stepping on the grave, then I noticed the inscription.

"dedicated to the memory of Robert Falcon Scott, who, in his return from the antartic was translated into a glorious death"

Mother must have had second sight, whats the chances of that happening ?
