    The annual Autumn update of my blog is done :).

    I've added an "Autumn 2011 Tour", which I hope you will find useful (Direct Link)

    We've had a very busy year for a number of family reasons, and I haven't had time to spend here; sorry if I have not replied to your messages. I note that my Annual Blog Update this year is very nearly two full months later than previous years ... hopefully I will be out-from-under by the New Year.

    Compost Queen: the Squash plants you kindly let me have in the spring, being of short-season variety, managed to get a good crop. Mant thanks.

    Shiney: Not so with your Squash I'm afraid. I didn't get a single fruit off either the plant you kindly gave me, nor the ones I had grown from seed. If you have had better luck I would apprecaite some more seed for next year please as we really like the large fruits, and crop, that it has produced in the past.

    We are now in our busiest time of the year at work, so I'm unlikely to be about much over the coming weeks, but best wishes to you all.

      Our squash didn't do much either but a friend I gave a couple of plants to managed a reasonable crop :scratch:. No more seeds I'm afraid.

      The two tom plants you gave me (the ones you were going to chuck on the compost) remained lanky and didn't produce much leaf, despite lots of feeding, but produced lots of good toms. Thanks :yess:

      Out of interest:
      we tried some, quick cropping, late dwarf French beans called Pongo. Germinated them 8th August (3 days), potted on 29th, planted outside 14th Sept, eating beans 17th Oct. Sweet and tasty :thumbsup:

      Ah well, I'll take more care to "preserve the line" when someone gives me some unusual seeds in future.

      I did wonder, earlier this year, if it might be "Waltham Butternut" - or maybe we already had that converation and you said not?

      The answer was, not! :D

      It was a new variety and not yet named at the time I was trialling them. I never did find out what they were called :(.

      Great to see you back kristen, blimey you have been busy. I can't wait to see how your new exotic garden develops. Your bananas have done really well to say you have grown them from seed in one season. I tried sowing some but none germinated after 6 months I gave up.
