    Hi All

I have some seeds for Marketmore Cucumbers the packet says outdoor will they be OK to plant and grow in the greenhouse? I have planted Burpless Tasty Green but from the 10 seeds I sowed only 6 have grown so I need 4 more good plants to fill the space I have. I guess they will grow together OK, the kids will never forgive me if they have no Cucumbers to eat through the summer!!

    Thanks
    Dave

Dave, I grew Marketmore in a polytunnel last year and they cropped very well so I'd guess they'll be OK in your greenhouse.

I grew Marketmore in my greenhouse last year, I had so many I resorted to begging passing strangers to take them off my hands [IMG]

    Hi

Thanks for the replies I panicked and have planted a few seeds and also bought more Burpless Tast Green from Thomson & Morgan just to be sure. I have limited space in the garden at present as the children 8 & 10 years enjoy using the lawn for games. But the greenhouse is great fun.

    Thanks again

    Dave

I have 3 Marketmore outdoor cucumbers ready for imminent planting (but if they'd been planted through polythene as I normally do they would have been frosted last night) and loads more that will be ready in 2 - 3 weeks time.

Recent events Killer Cucumbers are making me consider planting one of them in my polytunnel to try and get some earlier cucumbers, and a search threw up this thread. I normally let them scramble over the ground, but was thinking of adding some vertical stock fencing at the end of my polytunnel, planting one in the border and training it up the mesh:

    So:

    1) Are they OK for climbing/training up mesh, and

    2) What about pollination?
