Geoff Hamilton was the man. Don't think we get to see enough of Pippa Greenwood. Quite fond of Carol Klein. Here's a pic of Diarmuid in the student show garden I was involved in at this years Gardeners World Live. (He liked our garden!)

Percy,s got to be near the top Anyone who can garden in a suit and tie plus smoke a pipe at the same time gets my vote.
This weeks jobs, says Percy are,
divide and re-plant irises, take cuttings of rock plants, feed lawns, fumigate against white fly, watch for thrips and capsid bugs, thin overcrowded fruit treesand protect curds of cauliflowers.
(in your garden with Percy Thrower) 1959

    He,s the man

Titch has too much personality and Monty has none at all. Mr Hamilton was the biz! Can't stand Diarmuid and the designer types

[IMG] </font>[/quote][IMG] Oh sparkle, Monty is a fool, surrounded by gardeners far superior to himself, why do you think Chris Beardshaw quit. His opinions on gardening far outway his actual abilities and he looks ridiculous amoungst his colleagues, notice I didn't put peers as this would suggest he is as good as them which would simply not be true. Sorry for the rant he just makes my skin crawl, everyone else I adore. [IMG]

Love titch but my heart belongs to Geoff. I remember friday nights, settling down in front of the telly and hearing that first guitar strum.....30 minutes of heaven. Signified the start of a wonderful gardening weekend - oh happy days!!

Geoffrey Smith was good - what happened to him? Then there was Peter Seabrook who apologised for everything - bit on the dull side.

I always liked Geoffrey Smith and the other Goeff, Hamalton.
You didn't always like what they did, but you did respect them.
The modern ones are a bit too arty farty for my likings, tend to ponce about too much.
Having said that, Tichmarsh is a good presenter as well as a gardener.
Does anyone remember those old progs. from Wisley?
Bertie Doe, "raking straight down the rows" :D
