    snap! .... thats the one ... the species that are common in south africa, have a slightly different apperance on the skin, but think it is closely related to what you grow .... not sure why they don't sell them in local supermarkets here as they are very tasty, and the closest taste is a butternut

    They are called Kabocha or Winter Squash over here.

        thats the ones! .... now all we need in the UK is Koo sweetcorn (and fishpaste, and grandpa's and Castle and biltong and drywors and .... and ...)

        am going to grow these gem squash next year .... am sure they will grow well here

        correct ..... am waiting for the cold before making .... have also found a butcher in a village called melbourn, who makes thin south african boerewors to a traditional recipe, so will do some dry wors aswell

          We're getting into Multi Dimension Cucurbit Space now:D

          It looks like the same laptop, a Compaq Aardvark, complete with a photoemmer toolbar:heehee:

          Biltong

          I have found a Deli that imports it,, very expensive but a nice treat to myself a couple of times a year

          There is a lady visits the local pub from Rhodesia makes it at home for her hubby, and it is exactly the same as the ones bought (she brought some in for us to try mmmnnn )

          I offered to pay her for it (The Biltong guys) but not taken up the offer

          Beef Jerky in the supermarkets does not come near :-(
