:D Wonder if you could complain to trading standards if they didn't perform as promised :what::loll:

Ooo, talking of chilies, my first few of the year have set, been tickling them with a small paint brush as Kristan was right, I couldn't find a bucket of hummingbird hawk moths to pollinate them.

    I wouldn't mind trying that curry :D.

I picked some of my chillies just the other week. They were on my overwintering plants. The plants haven't done very well this winter and a few have died. We left them for a month, over the coldest period, at a room temp of 60F whilst we were away. Someone came in once a week and watered them but they didn't give the plants the TLC that we would have done.

I haven't started off any new ones yet this year.

I can't imagine anybody eating those Infinity chillies.

One day, when I was out for lunch with my daughter, I ordered the pasta in chillie sauce.
They had used those very hot little Bird's Eye chillies to spice the oil for the sauce.
One must have been left in and I ate it. WOW ! My face and my whole body felt as if on fire and turned purple ! I looked and felt so bad my daughter wanted to phone for an ambulance.
I talked her out of it and in quite a short space of time things settled down.

I'm very careful about chillies now, only going for the mild varieties.
Definitely no Infinity Chillies for me.

They can kill you Alice, think i've mentioned it before.

I ate a whole one left in a meal. First meal with my girlfriends parents, now that was embarassing.

I have a really love of hot chilies =] can't live with out my Encona Chili Sauce when I'm down mum's (she could burn salad...)

saying that I do distinctly remember being about 11 playing with a chili which I found in at the bottom of the fridge (most likely hunting for chocolate :rolleyespink: ) and then picking my nose

Ziggy, my Chillies have set , and I have also been tickling the flowers with a small paint brush . Is it better to use a damp paintbrush or a dry one ? With a dry one I can see the pollen falling out of the flower. Also can you use the same paintbrush on two varieties of Chillies? :what:

    Hey Harry,

I used a dry one, you can use the same one on different varieties, it will just mean the seeds will have crossed to make a new variety, you could end up with a chilli named after you that tastes of speckle hen, sausage, mash & gravy:bbq:

Mine that set in February are turning red now, had to put the plant out under a cloche on account of a bad greenfly attack, put a load of ladybirds on the plant, they spent an hour or so going "Nom,nom,nom.....Hot, hot, hot...Nom,nom nom."

    No more greenfly now:dbgrtmb:

Cheers Ziggy , so if I dip my tickling stick in my beer and then my onion gravy.
I will get Chillies tasting of Speckled Hen and sausages ? [IMG](Botony was not my strongest subject at school.)
The BBQ smiley is great , just found it in the "more" section.
When will it be safe to put my Chili plants outside ( sunny sheltered spot ). I was going to leave it until early June ? But as probably 90% of other gardeners , at this time of year , I am seriously running out of space .

Tee Hee, i'm hardening one off at the moment, mainly due to the green fly. It'll probably end up in the lean to rather than outside direct as they crop better under cover.

The West Bay ones are destined for the cold frames.
