Good morning Louise, Kandy & Shiney and all those who follow,

I just lost my previous post so here goes for another one.

Shiney sorry to hear about your cramp - very painful, my OH always says it is a lack of salt so adds lots to his food before he tastes it.

Kandy thanks for the suggestion, I will post some pics sometime soon.

Louise glad you had a restful night after the one before.

Wet & drizzley here today and I have to do some planting to do as I was given an anchusa that has to "go in now" I was told.

Tomorrow I will be doing the cuttings of passion flower & jasmine, I have printed off your instructions which I shall study before I go - then I will look like an expert!! :loll::loll:

Have a good Friday everyone. Lilliebxx

Hello Everybody,

Shiney, sorry to hear about you suffering with cramp. I too get particularly at night. Is it right that it is a shortness of salt in your diet, not sure on that one. I do know that tonic water is suppose to help and I did start drinking a lot of tonic water at one time to combat it but once it stops you tend to forget and move on. It can get so bad some times that it leaves the muscles in your leg pulled and painful for the next day or two.

Kandy thanks for your remarks re the physio session yesterday. It was actually a seminar on how to look after your back. There was 12 of us attending and the seating was awful it made our backs ache. Anyway half way through we then had an exercise session which found all the weak spots in each of our particular places. But it was useful. Not too bad today so it couldn't have been that bad.

Got a friend coming over Sunday to hopefully relieve me of a lot of my spare tomatoes! Still wondering whether to allow the sweet corn to mature more or give up on them now. I suppose I have nothing to lose by leaving them to see what becomes of them.

Have a good day all.

Morning everyone,

Just popping in to say hi today......didnt get much sleep the past couple nights, Kobe is sick, really sick, his hind legs have given out on him, we had him to the Vet lastnight, and we agreed that the time has come, and he'll be put to sleep tomorrow morning.....i dont know how the hell i am going to stand there while its being done.....we are sending him away to be cremated, and will have his ashes back.

He's been off his food for a couple days, and we now have to pick him up to stand up, and carry him to go down stairs, he's on some pain meds until tomorrow, our normal Vet is away until then, and we wanted him to be there, not his replacement.

I am going out to cut the lawn.....need some air and be outside for awhile.

Hello again.....

Well its done, we couldnt wait until tomorrow....his bowel gave out, and our Vet was there, he came in to be there......and when Brad and i stood at Kobe's head, as Dr Lawes was giving him the medication....he lifted his head. looked right at us, and gave a huge sigh, as if to say that its OK, its time to go.
Strangely i do feel better, it hurts like hell but we did the right thing.

Off to finish cutting the lawn.

Dear Penny,
We haven't talked before as I am a Newbie, but I just wanted to say how very sorry I am to read your post.

It is absolutely awful to lose a pet, they are one of the family, and only other pet owners who have experienced it can understand.

You know you have done the right thing but it just feels so gut wrenching.

Sending you big hugs and hope the pain eases very soon.
Thinking of you

Oh my God Penny, thats terrible news, i'm so sorry to hear that. You've done the right thing, i'm glad the vet was there at the right time & that he didn't have to suffer for long.

It's 34 years since I had to have Scamp put down, but I still remember the look in his eyes & the vet trying to separate us.

My condolences but you did the right thing. Hope this brings you some comfort

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
