    Good morning everyone,

It's not such a bright morning today but I think it will be OK.

It was a sunny and very warm day yesterday but I didn't get the mowing done. Picked runner beans (they're definitely slowing down) and the outside toms (Koralik) are ripening like mad. Mrs shiney picked about 300 from the four plants. They're too small for freezing so I shall probably sell them.

I had to power wash the patio as there was a lot of brick dust stuck to the paving, although the workmen had cleaned up after them. I felt fine after the power washing but thought I had better take it easy. So I prepared a curry for the evening and then sat down with a nice cuppa and a book. An hour later I decided I had better do some work in my office but couldn't get out of the chair  :dunno:. Once I had managed to get up I was OK so decided to only do standing up things. It has eased up now so I hope to do the mowing later - that's standing up work. This getting older lark ain't much fun :heehee:.

I can moan about it on here because you can't stop me :loll: :loll:.

The sun has come out now :sunny:

The ground is cracking up because we haven't had run for quite a while so I shall have to water the plants in the new flower bed that we made two weeks ago. The bed is, currently, 30ft long and 3ft wide that we have cut out of the grass and moss area at the bottom of the garden. So far we have planted just hebe plants along the back of the bed and we'll gradually make the bed wider. We want to plant lots of things that bees love as it is down near the veg and fruit.

I hope to pick apples, pears and blackberries today of I survive the mowing :heehee:

    Have a great day :D

    Hello Everyone,

Shiney, be kind to your back do it in 2 sessions. Kandy, distinct feeling of Autumn and freshness in the air this morning. I think by the amount of berry on the cotoneasters and rowan trees it is going to be a long cold one. Don't mind as long as it is not cold and WET! Have a great weekend..........

    Good morning everyone,

Its was cold here overnight, the fireplace kicked in.....supposed to get colder tonight.

Have some errands to do, and a hair appointment later, and tomorrow we are off to see Kait, so that takes the better part of all day.

Hi Louise......its really not unusal for us to get a little snow this time of the year, but it never stays.....thank god!!

    Good morning everyone,

Hope you are all ok and enjoying your lie in:D

It is quiet dark out there this morning but at least it is dry out there and hopefully the touch of rain we had last evening saved me the task of watering the garden:heehee:

Hope you all have a good weekend:)

    Good morning everyone,

A little bit dreary out there this morning but still no rain. I've had to put the sprinkler on the veggies this week as they were looking poorly. The temperature yesterday hit 74F.

Good morning me again :heehee: and everyone,

I've just got back from taking Mrs shiney to the station and it is a beautiful sunny, but chilly, morning. :sunny: Mrs shiney and Oscar have both had their breakfast and I'm now going to make my porridge :). Oscar woke up to have his breakfast, ate some of it, and is now fast asleep again curled up in his home in the greenhouse. It's a hard life :heehee:.

When I was out shopping yesterday I thought I would also pick up some Arbrex (to seal the pruning work I had done on a plum tree) and a new umbrella (the old one has stopped working). What a waste of time . Our little local garden centre doesn't sell anything but statues and plants and the bigger garden centres are further away. So, on my way to Sainsbury's, I pass The Range, B & Q, a very big Homebase and Wickes. None of them doing anything for sealing cuts on trees. After going to Sainsbury's, which is on the edge of the town centre, I had to walk into the centre as I was going to the library. I found five shops that were selling umbrellas but they only sold fold up ones or very pretty, girly ones. All I want is a large umbrella that isn't floral, polka dot or bright colours. Oh well, back to Amazon! :D

Oscar has now ventured out into the wide world. Actually, what he has done is walk out of the greenhouse and then 10ft across the pation to his favourite flower bed and promptly gone back to sleep. This flower bed is by the house, outside the kitchen, and backed by two brick walls of the house. It faces south and east and is in full sun in the morning so not only is he in full sunshine but has two warm, sunny brick walls around him. It is also under the eaves of the house so he can keep dry if it rains. He couldn't have designed it better himself :D.

Yum, yum, this porridge is nice :heehee:

    Have a great day :D

    Morning Everyone,

Louise glad you are pleased with your lighting.

Shiney, tch tch! Dare I comment, so you went all the way and did the job well. Hee hee. Oscar's got it made hasn't he. Oh I would love to come back as a cat. Just to lay and sleep in the sun, eat when you want and not be bothered by what else is going on in the world.

Nice day for the great north run. Enjoy this lovely sunshine.
