    Hi

I just thought I would show you all what I am growing at the moment in our demonstration greenhouse at Mawdesley, lancashire. Here we have a pineapple, chillies and early tomatoes.

I have plenty of other crops on the go, and will add more as the year goes on.

    Thanks for looking

    David

    Hi
Yes the pineapple is in an ebb and flood system and has water/feed pumped from the base reservoir to the plant twice a day, 15 minutes each time. The chillis are in compost but watered from beneath via reservoir/capillary matting system. The tomatoes are in an NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) system. Water/feed is constantly flowing over the roots, pump fed from a reservoir beneath.

    Hello

The longer days are bringing on the tomatoes. They grew an average of 15cm last week.

Your greenhouse must be heated, what sort of temperature are you keeping it at?

Yes papaya. This particular plant snapped last year under the weight of its own fruit, but has re-grown really well. Cuttings were also taken just in case, so now I have 6 fine specimens.

Interesting, I didn't know it would grow from cuttings.

Do you have one of the more cold tolerant species?
