It'll have to wait till I go back down now.

Funnily enough, a few have appeared since the warm spell which are yellow from the start, the main one started off white, might have just been the pants summer.

Was there open pollination at any stage or were all the genetics of the crosses known/controlled?

Photo this morning, the big one half rotten away - got to about 60 lb according to the OTT method:

The little one only made 25 lb in the end. Mind you I don't trust my bathroom scales because they always over estimate my weight, they must be under-reading at this end of the scale :)

A few years ago I carved this one:

Anyone care to guess what it's supposed to be?

And no one better ask which one is me...

I know what it is, the hands at the side give it away Paintings and loud noises should give clues to others...

          Nicely done John!

          Steve...:)

            Scrungee

IIRC, the 800lb pumpkin was polinated with a male flower from another Giant, the seed that grew that plant also came from an 800 plus Pumpkin...from a different line.

            Steve...:)

I suppose the question is...who wants to try next year?

I'm definately growing a giant again next year with lofty ambitions, I know Ziggy is in as I have his address...so I'll just send him the seed...:loll:

              Steve...:)
