Finally, this might look like a pile of rubbish, but it means my Musa basjoo stems have survived, for the first time since 2008.

Snakeshead Fritillary

These have done much better than last year and appear to have coped well with the cold winter that has just passed. Picture was taken this morning.

Corydalis 'Bronze Beauty' grew this from seed last year got loads of plants all now planted in the wood, each one has slightly different coloured foliage and lovely purple lipped yellow flowers.

 

So many lovely photos. Its all starting to happen in the garden now.


Brugmansia. I showed some blooms last month - but it has really come on well since then.


Primulae. These are very ordinary ones grown from seed. However they seem to really thrive. I bought some of the fancy coloured hybrids you see in garden centres, but they don't do well in the garden. And this year I have been amazed how many seedlings have appeared. Far more than I have ever seen before - conditions must have been just right.


Last but not least - everyone loves a Dandelion. They are so bright and cheerful and .... so yellow. I think many people underestimate their Dandelions. They are happy to leave them in the border to look after themselves. But if you want really good, big, Dandelions with large flowers and plenty of seed for next year - you must look after them, They should be pampered by putting in a large pot, watered and fed well and they will reward you. Now, not a lot of people know that. :D
