Horse manure

    I have just been given about 8 bags of horse manure some is quite composted but some bags have quite a lot of straw content. Could I get away with using the less well rotted stuff for topping up potato bags as they grow do you think ?
    My other plan is maybe mix it with the bought compost and try and chop it in to bulk it up a bit maybe

    I'd add the unrotted stuff to a compost heap rather than risk 'scorching' any of your precious plants with fresh material.

    Ok thanks it has gone to recycling plant in the garden bin.
