Hello here is were i will be documenting the construction of my garden.

I have an idea of what i want but looking for ideas on how to implement these things into my garden and open to any suggestions of what people would do if this was theres as this is a big job this will take a while to complete so all suggestions will be taken on board.

    My ideas
split the garden in half nearest the house having an area for shed small green house fruit and veg plot. and bottom half of the garden having kidney shaped lawn with borders surrounding it

    My Garden
The garden is 6x24m narrow south east facing not to exposed to winds the soil ph is unkown at the moment as ive not tested it yet and drainage on the site is fairly good.

2 sides of the garden has a boundary fence and one side is an old privet/elder hedge that was the boundary between me and my neighbor which had been chopped to the ground before i moved in. at the bottom of the garden is a no mans land between the houses which im going to try clean up. the area that i have dug out was where my shed was going to go but have decided to level garden before purchasing a shed.

I have sprayed the whole area as im going to rotovate then rake level the whole site the bit at the bottom of the photo was a small gradient that i dug away and this is the pile of soil you can see in middle of the garden. ive also removed half of the privet/elder stumps the rest will be out this weekend. also ive pruned back the elder and hawthorn trees in no mans land where the branches were growing towards my garden.

The plan this year is to remove the washing poles and stumps rotovate whole site level it out then grass seed the whole area with a shady lawn seed have a boundary fence erected were the hedge stumps are and at no mans land. i think a 6ft fence at no mans land is needed unsure at the moment what size to do at boundary. As it will take a year for the grass seed to establish itself this will mean bottom end of the garden will be grass for the year but means i can work on the sites for the shed greenhouse and veg/ fruit plots once i have ironed out a design.

been a while and i havent been able to do everything in the garden that i want to do but slowly getting it done and also the plans have changed going to make another 3 of the small raised beds 3 for veg and the other as a nursery bed and at the bottom of the garden ive just started to dig over a border. and still need a divider fence and replace the fence at the bottom end.

here is a couple of photos of the garden now not the best as phones camera lens is bit scratched

It looks so much better now. Nice fencing there.Bet your neighbours are nearly as pleased as you! Please continue to show us what you are doing. You are an inspiration to many would be Gardeners who just need to be convinced that it CAN be done- with time, hard work and a bit of patience. A south east facing garden means that virtually everything will like to grow there. I look forward to seeing some flowers as I love colour. Hope you do too! What are you planning to grow?

september weekend last year is when i got round to seeding it so happy with how well its grew in. to turf the area it would have cost me 4times what it cost me to hire rotovator and buy a bag of seed.

in the small raised bed you see i managed to grow some potatoes, onions, carrots, cabbage and swede it was mainly a test as ive never grown vegtables before and wasnt sure how i would get on and what would grow and how much space each would need etc. the border im going to start with some spring bulbs crocus, daffys and tulips the usual also managed to get some snake head fritillary from b&q for free lady was throwing all the pots of bulbs that were dying back in the bin managed to get some from her with a bit of persuasion. just going to do bits at a time see what works and what doesnt

I admire your effort a great transformation already. Now that you have mastered the lawn it will be much easier to plan around it. Keep the good work up and keep us posted. It's great to see how a garden from scratch gradually takes on its own identity.
