Last year, someone here (and my sincere apologies, since I can't now recall who), suggested making up a solution of washing-up liquid and water, putting it in a spray bottle and squirting the little blighters with it.

I have to confess to being a bit sceptical, but I tried it and it's absolutely brilliant - never again will I buy or use unsightly ant powder.

Squirt it as Shiney has said - not only will it kill the ants, but smells quite pleasant and has the added advantage of being a cleaning agent too. Ant killer, 'air freshner' and cleaner all in one - what more could one ask!!

Have been googling more info re getting rid of ants and while doing it a couple of ants ran across my computer desk - the cheek of it  They just suddenly appear and can't see where they are coming in.

Washing all tops with lemon washing up liquid seems a good idea as seems they dislike citrus. I suppose likewise orange or lemon furniture polish might deter them. Any one tried that?

" Killing single ants inside the home should be avoided, as live ants are attracted to the smell of their dead companions, and will swarm to the place to be able to carry away the carcasses. " .Really?

And this one - "Cillit Bang, and the ants are gone. This stuff could kill a horse." Now that sounds intriguing.

    :loll:

I used the last drop of my lemon cleaner this morning - haven't see any ants today yet.
I am now armed with lemon washing up liquid and lemon furniture polish so we'll see what happens next - [IMG]

So if you can't kill them they can at least look nice and shiny :heehee: (not shiney :D)
