With bluebells, grape hyacinths and a few late daffodils in my garden what I didn't expect to find today was 3 of my 'Cambridge Favourite' strawberry plants in flower!

I have some wild strawberries in the back garden. Don't know how they got there, but they're the ones that produce teeny tiny fruit - might be alpine ones? Not sure, but they're flowering too.

Yes my wild strawberries in flower too started last week I think. Never tries strawberries before so can't wait to taste them! Are these type quite tart or does it depend when you pick them?

Wild strawberries are ..... gorgeous. Very, very small and you pick them just like 'normal' strawberries i.e. when they're ripe. I can't say they're particularly 'tart' just different from normal strawberries and in my opinion, far, far better as they seem to have a more intense flavour. You don't 'arf need a lot for a decent portion though :heehee:

My plants are covered in flowers but have been infested by variouse bugs! mainly tiny white flys, tint green things and small brown flys - I have sprayed the plants a couple of days ago but no change.

The spray I have says I can only use it twice in one season so I will give it another go over the weekend :( any tips
