I can’t view the project videos on the GW site . I have downloaded the latest Adobe flash player. Signed into the site , and tried to play videos on Firefox ver. 4.0 and also IE 8 . All I can see is a dark green square , and no blocking messages. Do I need to adjust a setting in my options or firewall ?
The GW video page is in the link below , can anyone else view them , or is it just me again :gaagh::D

Hi WOO , the flash player version is 10/2 , and I have rebooted and tried it on Chrome without any luck. My provider is Virgin , who have there own Virgin Media Security firewall app , could it be a setting in there ?

Hi Harry try this my friend,:)
The problem may be with your Flash Player settings.
Right click on the video window which is not playing and select Global Settings.
Select the 'Global Storage Settings panel' from the list on the left of the page and see if 'Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer' is ticked.
If it is not ticked, then this is probably your problem and ticking it should allow your BBC content to play - you will probably need to close any open browsers before this takes effect.
The above tick box is often unticked for security reasons, but rather than using this blanket control, use a per website control by going to the 'Website Storage Settings panel', setting the storage slider to 0 and then clicking on 'Delete all sites'
Now, whenever a site wants to store Flash data, you will be asked if you wish to allow this - you have control over the sites but without disabling them all. Again, you may need to close all browsers and then open them again for the settings to apply.:dbgrtmb::)

No luck Woo :dunno:Followed your help to the letter ( the 'Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer' was ticked.) It still wont show GW videos . This is taking me back to the late eighties , when to even get sound to work on your PC was a major settings job :D

Hi WOO , got a result in the end . I turned my Virgin security firewall off , and lo and behold the videos played ! Had a fiddle with all the settings , not that many to play with on the Virgin Security console . I turned off the Ad-blocker and the Flash Video plays ! Just hope I dont get a load of pop up ads now . Thanks for all your help on this pesky problem

It works OK for me, with Firefox running under Ubuntu/Linux OS.

It's a pity so many people are afraid to try it (Linux), it just works.
