It looks as if there are some green stems there so I wouldn`t lose hope just yet. Give the clump a good soaking and hopefully it will send up some new shoots. :dbgrtmb:

Yes there's still hope there; I would clear the grass/weeds from around the base apply some fish/blood and bone or chicken manure pellets around the base, give it a good soaking and then mulch it to keep the moisture in.

Hi Chriz1 I am sure your bamboo will be OK,just a bit of winter sun scorch,My advice would be to feed it some Vitax Q4(pellet form) and gently hoe it in, and then put some mulch all around the base and water it well and regularly,It works for my 4 bamboos :)

i have 19 bamboos,10 different types, definately follow all the advice given, water is very important for the first year as it takes a year to fully establish to a new area, loads of food high in nitrogen and cut back any shootsd with no sign of new leaf growth as that will also spur new growth on,and as yours is a sasa id think about a root barrier :dbgrtmb:

Just so you can have a different opinion here, I think your bamboo has unfortunately passed off into the great bamboo desert in the sky
I will be pleased to be proved wrong though :)

If that was my bamboo, I think I would cut it all right back to near the ground, water, feed and mulch if you like. If the bamboo is alive, it will send up shoots that will look a lot better than the tatty ones struggling here.
