      Definitely some form of teasel; I grew one years ago that was far far bigger than the native form, it grew to over 8ft tall, had a very thick stem and lots of nasty thorns/spikes on the underside of the leaves; which yours seems to have also...Mine also had 3/4 main flowers and dozens of small ones off set from the main ones. I've looked for the seed again, but haven't been successful, mine originally came from a perennial mix.

        marley thanks for doing the photo, i wasnt sure how it should be done re photos, thoguht using photobucket was good idea

        i didnt say which plant i was refering to did i, my apologies

        yes the grass isnt the best, its 1 of the things to do

        the skateboard is going for a skip, garden isnt all that big, its on a slope which is the annoying thing
