Is any one,s garden invaded with snails & slugs (in Portugal)
I can go out twice a day & collect masses of them, mainly snails, maybe it,s because we have uncut fields around us, but they are munching all my leaves off, especially like herbs, sage, parsley & mint. Sue:

That's how we used to get the snails ready for the pot when I lived in France... 10 days in a sack with plenty of herbs, and they'd do all the work and stuff themselves. Have you tried a slug pub?

Haven't seen many here this year, but that's got to be as a result of the dry weather... if we ever get any rain they'll be back.

I think we must be watering too much!
No cannot face eating them, like the Portuguese do. Ugh. Sue

If the fields around you are dry that could be the answer Sue... you are providing the refreshment.

As to the flavour of snails... they haven't really got any, well maybe something akin to mud. Depending on how you prepare them, it's only the garlic and/or the sauce that make them palatable but when your friends like them so much you inevitably end up cooking them sometimes ( at least they are free :) ).
