It's been quite slow and 'well behaved' for me, but it is in a large pot, I think I really need to get it in the ground.....

It did have a period of "ill health", but I removed the dead wood, re-potted it, fed it and its come back strongly this year. I intend to pop it in the ground somewhere this autumn if its revival continues :thumb:

Ive not seen you in a while.

Your garden is looking lovely! And your corn is twice as tall as mine.

 

Ive sorely neglected the garden this month, real life has got in the way.
I need more colour so Ive gone through this month's posts and made a note of what is in bloom.

That said, these poppies are the brightest things for streets around.

There is also THIS interloper. Ive marked it, so I can collect seed later. While it jars with my current luminous display, its still a very pretty colour.

 

This really is faux gardening at its most shameless. I haven't even planted this rose - 'Well Being' - yet; this is how it arrived from the supplier. But it is rather gorgeous. It is more of a peachy, pink-tinged colour than it appears in this photo. The scent is wonderful.



I have a bit of a thing about scented plants. Lemon verbena is one of the best; the slightest touch releases a fantastic pong from the leaves. I overwinter mine by cutting it right back and sticking it in the shed until the frosts are over. I'm always amazed at how quickly it bounces back for the summer.



The jasmine at the bottom of my garden really is a bit of an unholy tangle. But at this time of year, especially on a warm, still summer's night (maybe we'll get one this weekend), I forgive it everything for its perfume. Unfortunately my partner thinks the smell has a slight tinge of cat pee or maybe even the pig sty about it. I think he is just weird.



Salvia 'Hotlips' is one of those cheerful plants which just keeps on going no matter what. This plant even managed to survive the arctic winter we've just had - outdoors and with no protection at all. Damn. I forgot to take the label off that pot in the background.

 

Clare- your jasmine is glorious. Mine is very similar. I tried hard this past spring to tame it and Im glad for the extra effort. It has covered a wall and four fence panels (I share it with a neighbour who trains it on her side of the fence.

The fragrance is so intense the whole house and the street were filled for days and days.
Its such a heavy fragrance, it gets inside your head and your clothes.

 

Shiney, could you tell me the name of the alstromerias that you've shown there, i especially like the pink one.
The lychnis picture underneath it is stunning, i love that planting

Clare that salvias gorgeous, have seen it for sale but not bought it as soooo many plants too overwinter already, but if yours survived last winter!!! I've just got to give it a try
