Just a few from me. I like bright colours in my garden, can you tell? :D

My Gaillardia 'Fanfare' has got it's first flower open. I love this plant, it's so unusual with it's side trumpet flowers forming the 'petals' of the larger flower shape -

The plants below are all in pots waiting to go into my bee border, if I ever get round to sorting it out.
There's a Knautia Macedonica at the back.
Veronica Spicata 'Royal Candles' (bought this from a Saturday market stall for £1.50 a couple of months ago, now this plant is in all the DIY stores, same size as the one I bought, for £12! :OUCH:).
At the front is Geum Borisii.
And you can just make out in the background a purple Heuchera.
Pretty pleased with how they all look together, even though it wasn't planned they are just grouped together in their pots.

And finally my pot of Calendula 'Art Shades' from a 59p packet of seeds from the supermarket. Bloomin' brilliant value. They flower on and on and on if you keep on top of the deadheading. :dbgrtmb:

I'm definitely with you on the bright colours, I just love bright and contrasting colours especially whilst I'm experimenting with my gardening and trying to learn lots :)

Have you seen Gallardia Goblin? I have one in the garden, might put it on later on. I haven't seen the fanfare variation, did you get this from a large nursery?

And as for calendula's I always think they offer excellent value. I got 3 packets for £1 and will be rewarded with some flowers very soon :) Is 'art-shades' a large grower then? I have mainly dwarf calendula's atm.

            Thanks.

Love that passion flower pete, I bought a not so hardy one last year, growing in my sunroom, no flowers yet but growing very well called 'Crimson Tears'.
Lost both my hardy ones last winter:cry3:

Lovely passionflower, Pete. I'm waiting for the first buds to open on my 'Perfume Passion'; sounds quite racy, doesn't it? A Thompson and Morgan jobbie. Hope it doesn't turn out to be more of a Damp Squib. :heehee:

Some really lovely plants, everyone :dbgrtmb: :love30:

We're now working on bringing summer colour to our garden as we have concentrated on spring colour so far. So there's not a lot to show yet. I'll have to get out there with the camera.

Simbad, I'm pleased to see your sharp lawn edges as I'm now not on my own - the other GC members that came to the garden said I had OCD :heehee: :loll:

See you all in what's looking good in July :hapfeet:

Sorry, Cosmos Guy, I'm a bit late with this reply. I've only just seen your post.

I think I bought the Gallardia Fanfare from a Wyvale about 6 years ago. I don't usually splash out on the larger plants (the £6 ish ones) at garden centres, but this one was so unusual I made an exception. I haven't seen 'Goblin', but if it's as bright as Fanfare, it might make it into my garden. It's a very small garden so I have a very exclusive plant selection.

Calendula Art Shades grows to about 2 feet. It supports itself to a point, if you grow a lot of them together. But the edges flop a bit so I'm trying to grow mine through a support this year.

                      Jo

Sorry for the late reply. I will definitely have to look out for 'Fanfare' when I'm out and about. I managed to get a picture of 'Goblin' for you anyway. Enjoy.
