    Ive just bought a golden gage tree to add to my growing fruit tree family,does anyone know of anything they like to have done to them?its still small:sunny:

    I'm afraid I can't help but your post reminded me of my nan trying to explain to me what on earth a gage was a few years ago:o

      I pick from some local tree growing wild that are in a bit of a state, but still get several buckets of gages from them every August to use for pies, jam and wine. The pies and jam have long gone, but still got some of these maturing:

          Just the usual, plenty of well rotted muck and compost dug in before planting, its going to be there a long time:dbgrtmb:

          With the way the countries weather has been going, might be worth incorporating a length of pipe when you plant him up, so you can get water direct to the roots in dry weather.

          Plums & gages will crack if they suddenly get water after a dry spell, so worth keeping the watering up.

            mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm gage pies & jam :yummy:Ive never tryed gage wine would luv to it looks gorgeous:sunny:Its the best feeling foraging ur own wild food im passionate about it.
