I bet they do, just not at the time you are in there. Watch. Hands up all NON Asda customers who get held in queues because of people paying by card. Hands up all non Asda customers who have CAUSED queues by paying by card.

 

I have a constant if low grade battle with my other half. If left to himself he would live in a field. Everything in his ideal garden would be mowable grass. I want flowers and shrubs and vegetables and trees. He cites 'too much work', by which he means weeding, but since I'm the one who does the weeding I don't know what he's worrying about. Anyway, after seven years in this house, with flowers and veg being established only in places where it was impossible to grow mowable grass (a rock wall, raised beds on a compacted clay base) he mused that it would be nice to be able to see more colour from our main windows. I seized the opportunity and now we have a 44 foot flowerbed waiting to be planted. I'm hoping to put some pictures up of progress when I've done some planting.

That sounds a fantastic idea though, and I hope you get the chance to do it somewhere.

 

Neighbours or workmen/women who start up there noisy, petrol mowers, hedgecutters, chainsaws and numerous other things at 8am on a Saturday or Sunday morning when I want an extended lay in! :wallbang:

 

Gribbles, they wait till you've turned your fishing light off & the second you turn it back on, they are all over your bait, they are like wood lice but about the size of hamsters.

 

Those scrap iron guys who come around shouting and playing the trumpet recording REALLY get on my nerves!! It used to be just a few times a year and at that time I thought it was slightly amusing and quaint. NOW there about 5 different ones and they come around 3 or 4 times a week. You can hear them coming for MILES!!! One day there were 2 of them within an hour of each other. I just want to get the hose out and spray them in the face and tell them to get the hell out of here! I wouldn't SELL them any scrap let alone GIVE it to them. I'd love to pile it up where they could see it and if they ask if they could have it say NO it's going to the TIP!!!!

 

Like Shiney says...how many hours do you have?

Here's just a few:

1. Noddy drivers on the road.
2. people turning their gardens to deserts by laying block paving or shingle.
3. crowds
4. so called friends telling me how to live my life. obviously not friends....
5. people asking inane questions, specifically my users calling me with the usual 'my screen is not on' type of queries.
6. calories
7. been trying to organise it for years but my letters go unanswered : I want it to only rain in the night. :-) You'd think this would be an easy one for God to do. :-)
8. Drivers with powerful cars who don't know how to drive them properly..

OK....I'm going to have to lie down in a darkened room so I can calm down now.

 

I cleaned my patio area/flags yesterday, what really annoys me is when grass, sunflowers and weeds grow between the cracks... took awhile to get it all out.

Hi kyleleonard. Regarding your idea of splitting the grass/bark with an archway. i did something similar last year.i have a decking area @12ft x 10 ft on the right side of the garden. on the left side i have a lawn with a water feature on the centre. i have a narrow pathway running between the top lawn and the decking ,running down to the main lawn. i built an archway reaching from the decking and arches over the path onto the grass area.
i planted two clematis, one on each side of the arch , which have now entwined together.
now when we walk down the pathway the archway catches your eye(like a doorway) leading down to the main lawn which is a fair size. at the bottom of the garden there is a six foot fence which i have attached 2 multi colour change solar spot lights ,and wait for it ,A Disco Ball which changes colour with the light reflecting from the spot lights . The Wife Says I am MAD . DONT CARE

 

Something that's been annoying me for the past week or so; at about 4-30 every morning a tidings* of Magpies gather in the trees across the road from our house and begin half an hour of incessant squawking and chattering at full volume.
This has to be the most tuneless bird on the planet, I'm not anti-bird generally (apart from pigeons perhaps) but these black and white hooligans with their early morning cacophony are seriously trying my patience.

* Yes, a group of Magpies is called a tidings, I looked it up. That's news to me. :D

Pour salt in the cracks. It keeps the weeds from growing for quite some time and if you do get any you can just spot salt them.
