Who knows what this is

    Does anyone know what this is i planted it end of march in a grow box and cant remmeber what was in it as it was bought for me as i had a new intrest in gardening lol someone has suyggested potatoes? thanks in advance people

    Thanks, Do u know what variety? and how will i know when they are ready i planted very late march

    Two very good questions neither of which I'll be especially any help with:o I don't think you can tell what the variety is until you dig them up (kind of like apples in that you have to see the fruit to tell what variety the tree is) as to when they are ready to digg up and eat I don't know as I've never really grown veg:rolleyespink: but I'd hazard a guess at about 3 months from planting? so end of June beginning of July

    however I'm sure someone will be along soon who is anything but useless with veg questions:parsnip:

    As Aesculus says it's almost impossible to identify potatoes from the leaves.

    They should be ready when the flowers start to die off. I can see some small flowers coming on your second photo so it won't be long :thumbsup:

    The variety can be determined by laboratory DNA testing, but £100 + VAT would buy an awful lot of spuds!

      I find potatoes plants really beautiful and sturdy.
