mystery plant ?

Does anyone know what this plant is, it was a self set which i dug up & put in this pot , it looks like some sort of dandy lion. http://gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=1011&stc=1&d=1309105067

 

It looks like salsify (purple flowers) or scorzonera (yellow flowers) to me.

Looks like it's at the 'seed saving' stage:



You'll have lots of them if you don't remove that seed head before they parachute all over your garden.

 

Is it a corn cockle? I think the seed heads are lovely.

 

sorry, the flower heads look just the same as the ordinary dandy lion,i took the head off as soon as i took the photo

 

In that case its Goatsbeard, a close relative of Salsify.
