      WHY
That is a bit heavy, to be thinking like it

Pulling up onions is not so much a crime, burining grass to show them off well that may be different
      Have you tried Epsom Salts

          Whassup?

In the days of vinyl rather than CDs, we used to have to fill in a slip of paper reporting any problems with LPs. Some wit or other had written the following on a Tom Robinson album: 'pretension on all tracks'. :D

thats because you don't want to pay the £10 per month for spotify unlimited and want the freebie

connect a DAC (digital to analogue convertor) to a good old amp such as a Pioneer A400 (£70-£80 off ebay) .... get a pair of old mission 751 speakers(£30 off ebay)... connect the amp the DAC and speakers to your pc, and you will have a very good setup that will rival new hifi systems that cost £1000+ ....

or, just get a cheap pair of pc speakers for starters

worth the £10 per month for spotify, as you have millions of tracks that you can listen to, and you can create your own playlists, and you never need to buy music again

grooveshark is ok, but not as good as spotify ... they too will eventually start charging IMHO

spotify is launching in the USA, and will grow rapidly

I don't just 'want the freebie'.

I've used Spotify since 2008, and the whole purpose of it was to stop people illegally downloading music, thus, they had it unlimited and claimed it would always be unlimited, and now they realise they can make a few quid from it, they start cutting down the hours and try to force people spend £10 a month, which it isn't worth.

So yeah, I'm back to how I was before Spotify came along, and my Itunes is packed so there's no use for paying for something which I can get for nout.

I have been using spotify since they started

the intenion was not to stop people downloading music illegally .... Spotify is a private business, and their sole intention is to make a profit

their initial marketing was very clever .... start off for free, some will join and pay so that they can get the higher bit rate (there are loads of people who have been paying for a long time, even when it was free for unlimited usage .... I frequent several hifi forums)

the others who listen for free, will tell their mates who will tell their mates etc

I still think it is an excellent sevice .... I work a lot behind my pc, and listen to music non-stop

costs a tenner a month .... that equates to 2 pints at the pub/month

pretty good value for money IMHO

Itunes is OK, but spotify is better IMHO

grooveshark is not too bad and is for free (for the time being)

Nope, you're wrong. Check when Spotify first began, they state that they get the music off the record labels because it stops people downloading it illegally, which then leads to people buying/downloading the album legally, which is the catch 22 and how they got all these millions of songs.

How is Spotify better? Itunes has the music you actually want to listen to, not 10,000,000 songs you don't want to listen to.

well, I'm not going to argue, as you most probably won't listen

but just for the record, I have been following spotify from their inception, as it was (and still is) discussed continually in great depth on the hifi forums, and most of the people on those forums are spotify members

Spotify is a business .... they have to pay royalties to the artists / recording studios everytime you listen to a track ....

Spotify then offered a higher bit rate (better quality sound) to subscribed members

They also started selling advertising airtime to generate more profit .... non premium (non paying) members get a lower bitrate (which is still very good quality), and get an advert every 3-4 songs (advert is approx 30 seconds)

at the end of the day, it's still for free if you refuse to pay, but you are limited to 20hrs a month (I think) ... and, as regards the songs loaded on spotify, I never have a problem finding songs that I enjoy, so not sure what sort of music you listen to?

herewith a bit of history about spotify:

Spotify - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

as for itunes, many on the hifi forums use this aswell and speak very highly of it ... I'm not sure how it works as I've never needed to use it

however, from what I understand, you need to pay to listen to the whole track/song? ... I was always under the impression that Itunes gives you a 30 second preview, or else you have to purchase the songs to listen to it fully?

if so, spotify is better IMHO as it costs a tenner for unlimited hours per month, or you can still listen for 20hrs a month for free

you can also purchase the tracks on spotify for 99 pence so that you can download onto your pc/ipod etc ... spotify premium also allows you to listen to the songs (without buying them) on your iphone etc

like I said, I'm not 100% sure and am going by heresay
