I am having a clear out and need space so I have to get rid of a number of plants in pots - I hate doing that. If anyone lives in the Harrogate area they are very welcome to come and pick them up. I don't want anything for them. Just send me a PM.

They are tender plants such as different types of Echium, Geranium maderense, Fuchsia boliviana, and the odd Iochroma etc.

A wonderful offer Peter :love30: but we don't have space for tender plants :(. Otherwise we would have detoured on our way to the Lakes.

Thank you all for your moral support. I think the reason most of us are on this forum, is that we don't have like minded friends just round the corner.

My conscience is eased a little bit by having made the offer, but it still hurts to get rid of good sized plants.

I currently have about 20 Brugmansias, all from seed this year, that are just coming into flower. They range from 4 to 6 feet tall. There is no way that I can overwinter all of them - so more hard decisions are coming up. I will be taking cuttings - but to abduct the young and kill the mother still seems hard. :cry3:

Hi Peter, perhaps if the mods allow you could post in the general discussions section where more people will see it and you might get a more favourable response, rather than such great plants going to that great garden in the sky.

Also if anyone wants to arrange their courier then a new home might be found :thumb:

The problem is, Bilbo, that all the plants that I have surplus are tender perennials. Those are the ones I like growing as the hardy perennials just look after themselves. But its difficult for most people to overwinter tender perennials. So I think most would not be interested.

Peter, maybe you could try your local freecycle network?

                    Steve...:)

Thanks Marley - I will give Steve's idea of freecycle a go.

Thanks Steve - Its time I tried Freecycle. I was originally put off by giving a lot of info to Yahoo. I could see myself getting inundated with spam. I am still not happy but have taken the plunge.

Hi Peter, we use Freecycle a lot to give away some surplus plants and we have also picked up some plants and other useful stuff; not had any problems with it at all, spam or otherwise....:thumb:
