In my partner's garden he has left an area to grow wild with grasses and the odd wild flower. We brought a packet of wildflower seeds but it says on the packet you need to finely rake some soil and plant them but to do this would destroy the area as its already semi established. We were wondering if we could just wait for some rain and then sprinkle the seeds throughout the area, does anyone have any better ideas or comments about whether this will work?:help:

I've not had much luck with sowing wildflower mixes into an already established area.

You'd probably be better off sowing them into modules and then planting out. Only thing is, things like poppies don't like being moved so you'd need to put them out with little or no root disturbance.

Yes totally agree with Zig.. The seeds need to reach the soil to germinate when we sprinkle them.. They are notoriously difficult in established areads.. I di what Zig says & sow mine into modules & I then plant them into the wildflower area to grow on & flower..

I also sowed wildflower seeds in modules for planting out in a village wildflower area.
