It's been scorching here in east yorkshire today too. There was talk of the mother of all storms forcast for tonight !!! Well it was litterally a storm in a tea cup!!!! plenty of rolling thunder and yes a brief downpour but nowhere near enough rain for my liking....all dried up now...(not me,the garden)...Still at least it feels fresher..
i was facinated to see a pigeon sat on the bird table in the rain lifting his wings up as if washing under his arms.....bet he feels fresher too.......

Been unbearably hot and humid here for the last couple of days.
Hard going at work today, it was even hot in the shade!
The sort of day when you go around breathing in short pants. :WINK1:
As I type this it's finally broken, thunder and lightning outside and some welcome rain. :yess:

No rain here today but looking at the radar its just getting into Cornwall right now.

So thats tomorrow written off as regarding a decent day.:(
It has on the whole been a poor summer yet again.

Bear in mind folks the days are getting shorter and in four weeks we get into Autumn.
Even if we get a few warm days the nights are likely to be coolish, and the end of any real growth in the garden that's worth mentioning.

Ah it is definitely fresher today! Slight bit of rain so far but nothing that will do much good. At least you don't feel like you're gonna faint if you move!

Lol Ziggy yes it did work. We are getting the same here. Nice and slow and steady so it's soaking in nicely and the grass might perk up now. It can keep this up for a while and I won't moan one bit!

Oh, Ziggy, some of us didn't actually want rain today! :( Himself got on the old ride-on yesterday (wonderful sunny day, not complaining at all) to cut the grass and it wouldn't start. Charged up the battery all night ready for today - coming down in stair rods this morning! Eased off to misty drizzle now but not the weather for mowing. What to wear is also a problem when it's throwing it down but still hot and muggy!
