Spring meet up

I have been thinking about the idea of having a meet up next spring for anyone who wants to come. I was thinking we could meet either at a pub or a garden center and have lunch and afterwards have a plant and seed exchange. I have a bunch of plants that will want dividing next year and will have some seeds and maybe some rooted cuttings of different stuff. I was thinking if other people do the same we could have a nice little afternoon get together, meet some of the other crazies from here and get some free plants. Depending on where people are coming from we could make it in a central location, likely in the Midlands, and if someone doesn't have transport possibly arrange a ride with someone else. Right now though I'm just looking for people that are interested and your location so I can get an idea of where the middle might be. I am in Derby.

 

Nice idea, i've tried organising things like this in the past but locations always prevent it from happening.
I'm probably about 3 hours away from there though so there's a problem in itself :(

 

Yes I know it would be a problem for some being too far away but I know there's a few that are fairly close to the area too. The reason I've posted it now instead of waiting is to see what interest there is. I know of at least 1 person that will come besides me so if that's all tere is I guess we both will get loads of plants!

 

Very nice idea...any sentence with the word "lunch" in it grabs my attention.. I am in! Just joking about the lunch...also because I know that here in UK food consumption is always the last thought.

Anyway, yes, keep us updated for dates and location.

PS although it doesn't look like I will be able to contribute with any plant cuttings just yet...

Count me and Newey in we're in Buckinhamshire and go to any opening even envelopes sometimes Have seeds will travel

 

Anyone else interested??? I know there are a number of people in the Midlands area.... Surely you can't pass up the opportunity for free plants and the chance to meet each other......

I'm up for it, but it all depends on work commitments, evil wife & so forth.

 

I still don't catch your marriage situation yet, Ziggy, but your wife or ex wife whatever, would not be pleased to read some of your posts...

 

You should hear some of the stuff I say to my Hubby....... to his FACE :OUCH:
