Hmmmmm, Ghoulies and Ghosties and Things that go Bump in the Night:mute::(:dunno:

I've talked to people who say that they seen such things and I wouldn't dream to disrespect their belief, but I haven't seen one, or ever felt the presence of one, which leaves me, being a doubter by nature, thinking there aren't such things.

As I mow the churchyard I read the headstones quite often & there is one that makes me smile every time I read it.. It says
I just think the" killed by accident" bit is amusing, then the dates get me, hers all the 3s & his all the 4s so to speak.. That bit is a bit spooky.. Amazing what love can do I suppose.... I often wonder if he died of a broken heart or by accident too.... :sunny:

I'm getting the start of a theory about this.

Repetative things like driving are controlled by the hindbrain, which takes over most of the monotonous actions, which is why the forebrain doesn't go mad thinking change gear, steer, brake etc.

I think events can be recorded somehow in the solid objects around, in much the same way sound & vision can be recorded onto magnetic tape, we all live in a huge electro magnetic dynamo after all, the Earth's field.

Now what if the hindbrain is more sensitive to the recordings or after images ? it sees them as normal events & the forebrain is not alerted till the logical progression of the event fails.

The car or bike fails to pass or no one is at the back door, thats when the forebrain sits up and notices.

So, if we were looking for these events consiously, ie with the forebrain, then that part is not sensitive enough to pick up the after image.

There is supposedly an old ghost car that has been seen on several occasions on the Chard/Crewkerne road, make people slow down & then dissapears, but because I know that and look out for it, I might never see it:DOH:

I can see where you're coming from with this Ziggy but it is said that some people are capable of seeing these things, where as others aren't. Could it also be that certain people see particular things but aren't capable of seeing others. For instance.......in the same cottage where I had the doorbell thing going on, my husband, son and daughters boyfriend saw a ghostly image in the room, in the same place, at the same time. The whole family were in that room together, so why didn't I and the others see it.

I have also had a few premonitions down the years, which as it turned out were bad ones and actually came to fruition, I also experience ESP from time to time, but have no tendencies to foretelling the future like a mediam would.

Although, I experience these 'happenings' I can't explain why and once again I am still sceptical about it all. But should I be? They are 'real' and scare the living daylights out of me when they happen.

I'm a doubter and don't believe in things unless I can see, touch, smell or taste what ever it is.

Ziggy, is always curious, but open minded, and always looking for an explanation.

Sheal, you're Fey but don't like the idea!!

Yes, go for it Penny,:dbgrtmb: The ESP didn't kick in on account of being asleep:sleep:

I used to know if my old girlfriend was nearby, in fact I came to rely on the sense.

Ziggy.....and there was me trying to work some ESP on you! :heehee:

Armandii, only joking. :WINK1: I looked up the definition of Fey, although I had an idea what it meant. It apparently has Scottish origins, now that's also spooky. I have no Scottish connections but love the highlands and read a lot of Scottish history. Also when I visit, there is a particular area up there Glen Orchy not far from Glencoe that I feel some sort of connection with, to the point where I feel very emotional when I'm there. Perhaps I've got a past life going on aswell.

This sounds more ridiculous the more I think about it! My husband has a Scottish surname and has distant Scottish relatives although not a Scot himself. Hmmmm!

Another meaning of Fey is a witch, I don't look like one and don't feel like one, but who knows! :) Perhaps I'm heading for the 'ducking stool'. :heehee:
