    Hi Kyle,

I'm giving mine a good soaking every day. I planted my cuttings in cells, which l place in a tray, and let them soak up the water from the bottom. I think it said on the video, that they like a lot of water?:scratch::scratch:

I've done the same, and then covered them in white stones (the top) to stop the moisture creeping out of it!

I don't really have anywhere to store them when winter comes.. I might fashion something from my table and put them under it.

When I go away I move everything close to the house facing south/east.Cover everything with fleeces ,those bag type ones are useful.
My lavender cuttings were in small pots so I slipped them in the gaps of the big pots and out of 12 I lost 3.
I am away 5 months this winter ,usually 3 so fingers crossed.

        Hi Kyle,

l've covered mine with vermiculite....so similar sort of thing really. Did you see my post yesterday.....Wilkinsons have 4 tier, plastic greenhouses for only £9. I'm hoping that they will be adequate for the Winter frosts.:what::what::what:

I have one I bought earlier this year (from Wilko's, as well!)

It's survived the high winds, thus far, so I hope it survives a bit of snow if we get any!

I bought a veg grow bag (Similar stuff the greenhouses are made from) from Sainsbury's 2 weeks ago for £1.49, so next year I'll try my hand at growing stuff to eat :D

I've ran out of vermiculite recently, and my perlite is yet to show up!

Of cause we will. How could we not......what with our green fingers an' all:heehee::heehee::heehee::heehee::heehee: By the way, did you see Bilbo's post. He has bought a fleece for his Wilko's greenhouse, and he is going to put that on first, then the ordinary cover on top.

            I just seen it.

I might just buy a spare new greenhouse for next year and if the snow breaks the one I have now, so be it! I have a few tears along the zipper, anyway. :o

            Hi Kyle,

Yes the 2 l have already ......not the wilko ones.....have a few tears in them by where the zippers are, but when the Wilkos ones arrived yesterday, l tried the covers on my original greenhouses, and they fit perfectly, so l think that l may order some new ones from Wilkos.

How much are the covers to buy on their own?

Going to take some Creeping Jenny cuttings in a moment! I just read how to on a site, just hope it comes to fruition.

            Hi Kyle,

The Wilco 4 tier fleece is £3.48, and the Wilco 4 tier PVC cover is £4.00. They also do a Wilco 4 tier PE cover @ £3.48 .....don't know what the difference to the PVC one is tho'.:scratch::scratch:

Same! I might upgrade to a large plastic walk-in one next year. As I like to keep my plant pots on the bottom level (to stop it blowing away) so I always run out of space which stops me growing as much as I'd like to.

            My perlite came!

            Hi Kyle,

The walk-in ones which l have seen, have not had staging on the bottom level, they have just had staging in the middle, on both sides. So, in effect, they have not had as much staging as we have, with our 4 tier ones.

I'm glad that your perlite has arrived.....just in time for your Creeping Jenny eh? As a matter of interest, l planted lots of Hydrangea cuttings in vermiculite about 7/8 weeks ago, and when l potted them up last week, they had all rooted. I have repotted them in Cutting compost, but they were really easy to get out of the Vermiculite......no root damage at all.

So far, only one thing I've taken a cutting from has rooted.

There's a woods near my house, and I took a bit of a tree to see if it rooted, and it has! Still no idea what the tree actually is :D

                This year I have tried to take cuttings from;

                4 Different rose bushes
                French Lavender
                Hebe
                & Creeping Jenny

just got to play the waiting game, now!
