        Dai

Be careful were you put that cactus next time,:heehee: as it sounds like you sat on it before posting

Dim , I think you have nailed it it has dried out and with being so close to the house any rain that may of helped hasnt been able to reach it, I cant see residue from the watering can doing this, I also used to garden for two ladies , and her bay tree was killed by the central heating outlet and none of us had a clue what the problem was until a very cold day and we could see all the fumes heading in its direction we did move it and it did pick up, its very kind of you to replace as Dai has already mentioned not your fault why dont you suggest a automatic watering system taking into account that the lady of the house is not that intrested a house by me had 6 half standard hollies I know they cost a mint , never got watered and 2 died in the summer , more money than sense were other people that would love this type of stuff and look after it dont get the chance cos they aint got the cash to spare.

I`m just trying to help the man, but he obviously knows it all already. I just hope he doesn`t kill someone before he finds out he knows nothing.:dbgrtmb:
