no home should be without one of these:

Rice & Potato Masher: Amazon.co.uk: Kitchen & Home

I never knew they even existed and used the old fashioned mashers .... bought one from a charity shop .... asked the lady at the checkout point what it was for, and she told me it was to mash potatoes ...

just shows you, I'm from africa and have never ever seen one of these gadgets there

mash comes out super smooth ....

boil poataoes in salty water till soft, mash through this gadget ... add a full slab of butter (250 grams), salt and black pepper and whisk with a wire mesh .... best mash ever

I thought it was an industrial garlic press
      :D

      Blimey,

Something so trivial can lead to murder ? With all the stuff i've had to put up with i'd have a worse track record than Hitler if i'd gone down that road:DOH:

It seems to me its always the trivial things that make people snap. People seem to work through major life changes events, but subtle things like bad cooking bust people up.

As far as I can gather, the main reason my parents divorced is because my mam can't cook, and my dad regularly failed to take his boots off before coming into the house.

You should not have used the same lump hammer as you use on the slugs :-)

It would seem that this anger had been building up for years.

This is the village where my father inlaw lives and where Mr Kandy was born and brought up in and my father in law said the other week that all that part of the village was closed off and now we know why.I am surprised though that they were able to move into those bungalows as they are supposed to be for elderly people already living within the village.

Ziggy, keep talking and working at it as everyone has their faults, but sometimes they don't realise that they could have some niggling habits that grates on the nerves of their hubby/wife/partner.I have friends that have been married nearly fifty years and can't really stand being in each others company for long, but they are of the old school that you marry for better or worse so will stay together until the bitter end.Sometimes the children are stuck in the middle of the couples unhappiness hoping that it will get better, but deep down know that it won't.Kids are very resilliant and whatever happens to the couple will often bounce back and lead good lives unless of course their minds are poisoned by one of the parents and then there could be problems.

It is all a question of give and take although for some people they take more than they give.Perhaps she just needs training in the art of being a good wife :D

ifyou dig deeper into the facts, you may find that financial problems led to the breakdown ...

most of my friends are divorced, and most of the divorces were due to stress caused by the lack of money, even though they don't admit it

those of my friends who are still 'happily' married and who are still together, are financialy very well off

not saying it is like that in all cases, and am just relaying what has happened to my circle of close friends

those who ended up getting divorced waited until their kids finished college and moved out of the home, but it was clearly evident that they were not happy when they were still together, especially when we hosted or attended BBQ's/parties and the booze flowed freely

it's actually sad, as they are all good people
                :(

Lumpy mashed potatoes were always called 'Mash with character' in our house! I like my creamed and smooth though.
