Don't think we are now Zig, not this year anyway. We're getting into the wet and windy season now for this year (even wetter and windier than usual I mean).

Maybe late spring time next year.

When's proper cider season? I know this year's harvest has probably happened, and I know cider has a short period when its at its best, but I don't know how long it takes to be ready at its peak.

Incidentally, guess what I bought myself today?

Not quite. I went into the new home brew shop that's just recently opened down town. I told the very knowledgeable chap in there that I wanted everything I need to start making wine and cider. He was very excited, because here was his chance to make a big sale.

        I came out with:
-A five gallon bucket thing with lid
        -A cider kit
-A large bag of brewer's sugar
        -A syphon tube
        -A demijohn
        -An airlock
        -Some yeast
        -Some sterilising gear
-A huge plastic spoon, which he threw in for free:dbgrtmb:

Nice one, you're all set now then:dbgrtmb:

The beauty of it now is that your basic kit will last for ages, last night I was decanting "Yellow & Brown" using a funnel I bought in 1977.

Just had a look at the dial on the cooker, looks like I bake things between 180 to 200.

If you also had a small amount of syrup you could make these:

        Twink's Hob Nobs

I'd also make some cheesy biscuits (delicious warm) and walnut (they've starting falling down) cookies whilst the ovens on.
