    I just love this silk oak - the foliage is gorgeous.

    Thought I would take a picture before I took some cuttings - but it did survive :)

    Grown from seed it is almost a year old and perhaps 4 feet tall.

      Rootball, they are very attractive when young and are spectacular when fully grown and in flower, they soon outgrow a house or greenhouse but can't survive outside which is a shame.

      I have a couple of quite large plants which I grew from seed , have never tried cuttings ..Has anyone tried cuttings before ??

      Oh my goodness, a nightmare here. Grevillea robusta ... we had one about ten years ago and had to dig it up .. so HUGE. so quickly albeit attractive.

      I cannot see such living in the UK outside which is where they need to be to see their beauty.

      Lovely tree! The leaves look very 'touchy,feely'. :)

      There used to be some at the Isle of Wight college although I don't know how they are now but in my last year they were knocked back quite severely and had to be chopped down to the roots although they did re-shoot so maybe it might be possible:dunno:

      Yeah seems to be one of those that will survive a frost but not a winter - nice pot plant though, and perhaps better contained by the sound of it :heehee:
