Anyone built a pallet compost bin

ive got 10 pallets, some cables ties, some screws and nails going to build 2 compost bins using these any tips from people who have done so already would be great

 

Hi ixithepatriot....I built several over the years with pallets. I dismantled them and formed three screwed sides and a slotted front which was easily removed when emptying . I thought they looked nicer than just fixing them together and I always cut the timbers to form a 4x4x4ft bin. However,I now go for galvanised inch weld mesh because it doesn't rot..

I'm in the process of building one at the moment but have ran out of pallets! Will have to take some pictures tomorrow for you

 

I'm curious to know why you still have a darlek after building one of those

 

Had a pair of very successful pallet composters at the last house. Need to source some for the increasing pile at the new house.

Meanwhile, just built raised beds from new sleepers, inspired by a Tudor knot garden, for a client.

 

I'm thinking about getting a darlek to rot my leaves down in. Only problem is I don't really need one as tall, like a baby darlek I guess.

Boghopper - Do you have a local travis perkins nearby? I get mine from there and they deliver them to me too. A salesmen told me they have to pay to dispose of them so are happy to offload some gardeners.
