SOLVED+CLOSED: More to Identify (4, final)

And the last plant to be identified as good plant or weed...

It is a climber that twists around other plants or, like in my case, around the ropes of a climbing construction. The leaves have some decorative purple veins, and the entire main stem and leaf stem got something that looks like thorns but is not stitchy, maybe more a kind of aerial root.

That looks like Bindweed to me. A weed that you really need to get rid of! :)

Sheal, you must remember that Sven lives in Jamaica and runs an International seed exchange.
It could be any number of tropical plants that we do not see or grow in Britain.
It is definitely not Calystegia sepium. Common name bindweed.

Thanks, so far, for your great assistance. Well, let's wait for some more ideas then. :-)
I think, once it blossoms, it will be much easier to identify that one...

I'm going with the genus Ipomea or at the very least it's in Convolvulacea so bind weed is really not too far off the mark:) no idea which one though =/ are then any different shaped leaves on the plant? as they usually vary between 3 and 2 lobes as well nearer the base

Ipomoea? Well, that would be great, as I put Ipomoea tricolor seeds into the soil, but a looooooooong time ago (before the age of dinosaurs, maybe Perm or Silur, I believe). I gave up my hope.

Are these "thorns" actually roots or "hands" to hold while climbing and winding?

That's good to know then:yess: and I forgot to mention that I agree with your assessment of the aerial roots rather than spines:dbgrtmb:

Thanks once more! Great forum here, great members, great spirit!
Let's hope that the other three threads will be successfully, too.
