I don't like to rain on your parade but....

The Sanctuary is on its last legs due to a Funding crisis and is likely to close unless they can access new funding sources.
They have been featured on the local news to put out that message, with the Squirrels.

The cynical part of me thinks these "Katya survivors" are a welcome attraction!!

Well, if this is what it takes to get some more donations then i don't think it's all bad.
In these tight financial times prising money from the strapped public is a very difficult job, so needs must.

      I don't dis-agree.
The local Hospice and other similar groups are also struggling to meet targets.
Household budgets are tight and spare cash isn't what it was.

I did that once with two newborn rabbits, but in the end I made the error to put them together with the mother that rejected them.

Anyway, I was keeping them just above the belt area and I think they really felt the right temperature in there because they were very content. Trouble is when they were hungry they were moving more and tickling me with the nails. In spite of the fact that I was working in a pet shop at the time, I found the arrangement quite impratical especially when in front of a customer!

So pretty to see red ones. Yep only gray over here. There is a college in Ohio---Kent State University where tons of years ago, as a science project, they brought in black squirrels to the gray squirrel population to breed, and today all black squirrels.
