Hmmm ... just bought some from Tesco and have added it to a chicken/chilli/tomato stew that will be eaten with fresh made pasta and parmesan cheese

pack says that it is white garlic that has been aged ... you dont bother with removing the skin, and it's soft as jelly .... very sweet and does not even taste like garlic ... it's nice though and will see what it tastes like once the meal is prepared

    pack says:
Gently aged white garlic,. Black Garlic's soft jelly-like cloves add molasses and balsamic flavours to anything you cook

    --------------

speaking of Tesco, they have the £5 real food collections ... this weeks recipe is Roast pork chops with caramilised apples

    This weeks special:
a pack of 4 large thick pork chops
    1 kg of white potatoes
    pack of fresh sage
    pack of Braeburn apples
    300ml creme fraiche
1 bottle of french wholegrain mustard

all for £5 .... I think if you buy the porkchops alone from the counter, you would pay well over £7-£8

So, like, it's basically white garlic that's gone off. I think I might already have some in the bottom of the fridge!

it most probably is, as I just re-read the pack, and it's definately not smoked (the colour of the bulb is dark grey/black) .... tastes good though
