Cut back time

    I have a Choisya in my garden and it has grown very big so I would like to cut it back our far should I cut it and when is the best time to do this,I also have a very woody honeysuckle that has very little foilage can I cut this down to the base and when is the best time.

    Hi Arty

    Were do you live , depending on this I would leave the Choisya till the spring if we have a hard wiinter it will kill all the top growth off so by leaving it on any damage you can trim in the spring if you cant wait cut 1/4 no more .

    I would leave the honeysuckle to Novemeber wait for the rest of the leaves to drop off , but no later as they do start in to growth very early in the year its one of the firts climmers in my garden to grow.
