They were planted late, a gift from a friend who had bought too many seed spuds. Left them in till the tops had died back so they will keep better, still using up the 1st earlies.

Mrs Scrungee was just lke a big kid this afternoon diving into the soil to get spuds as soon as i lifted the fork:

From 2 rows of Desirees (and 7 more rows to go plus 40 Sarpo Mira plants and loads of odds & ends I got from the Homebase giveaway, plus 3 sacks of Kestrels in the shed - I'm wondering where it's all going to be stored).

Best year for spuds I can remember despite being frosted and then a few months with a severe lack of rain, but at least they were all finished and the tops cut off before any blight arrived and it's a pleasure digging them out of dusty dry soil.

          Hiya Ziggy.

So, I presume the skins have ripened?

          BTW, a Neil Young fan?

Hi Scrungee - superb crop of spuds. But just to go off an a tangent - what camera do you use :what: Every pic you take is pin point sharp focus - you took a pic of your box of garlic on another post that would have won a prize in my book  My birthday is coming up soon - so I may trade-in my pocket camera with built in flash - below - for a new one :D
