Goldfinches turned up in my garden three weeks ago and are still here.
Now, this doesn't bode well in my neck of the woods. They only tend to appear when the following winter is going to be a bad one! :(

If I see a Bullfinch, which I haven't yet, that will make it a dead certainty!

Goldfinches are everywhere this year. They seem to have had a good season.

    They're beautiful little birds :wub2:

Lucky for me they're here all year round, as are the green and chaffinches, linnets also.
Let's hope your prediction isn't true, Sheal !

Here too. The goldfinches are right bullies though. They sit on the feeder and squawk at any other bird that aproaches. So much so that the little tits come and tap on the window to get my attention. Just like little kids in the playground complaining that the big kids are hogging the swings.:heehee:

Yes we have issues with the starling's guarding the bird bath, and lining up on the fence taking it in turns :P

A poor little goldfinch got stuck in my conservatory a few days back. The little darling was so scared.

The bullies here are the robins - they are absolutely hateful little b*****s

I have to put their feed in a separate area of the garden or the finch and tit families get attacked each and every time :gaagh:

Robins apparently have a reputation for this behaviour.

Robins have a reputation for their 'bullish' behaviour. They love mealworms and lots of attention.

Love Robins. This is the right time of the year for them to be about. They sing all day and all night.

No other birds are allowed in the garden with a robin. They are fiesty little birds
