my first dy off in months

woke up this morning and thought 'sod it' ... had 2 jobs today, so postponed them

listening to music on my pc (grooveshark) , having a few beers, and cooking dinner

    and I'm totally bored ....

am now thinking ... it would have been better if I went to work today as I have to try squeeze these 2 jobs in next week, and the weather forecast does not look good for the week

    :(

I also work for myself and you do have to make the days 'work' for you, don't you.

One thing i personally never do is work a Saturday or Sunday because i like to have 2 whole days of quietness where i don't have to actually do anything - when the other 5 days are spent clockwatching all day long and driving from one place to another those 2 days are sacred !

even when I was in Engineering, (contract design engineer) I worked a full week and used to bring work home on weekends ... done that for over 20 years

then I done the ebay thing for a few years (full time antiques trader) ... worked 7 days a week and weekends were spent buying from carboot sales, and saturday and sunday nights were prime listing nights (list loads of items on ebay)

wife say's I'm hyperactive ... I get bored easily if I am not working

suppose if I get older, things may change ...

am seriously thinking of starting ebay again in the winter as a sideline .... as gardening slows right down ....

been speaking to a mate who will go in with me (I was 'removed' from ebay as I never registered for VAT-he will hold the ebay account and paypal account in his name) ... I used to sell 60-80 items a week

will start up slow and sell 5-8 good quality items a week ... that is one of the most interesting jobs I have ever done

        Good morning Woo and everyone,

Yes Woo we had a good weekend but Mr Kandy said it wasn't long enough as he is back to work today:heehee:Hope you are well and thta your weekend was good:)

Moyra, that is so bad that your landlady doesn't keep on top of keeping her property in good order but I expect all she is interested in is the rent she is raking in and if she ever comes to sell the property you will have helped her get the best price but we would have been like you and kept the place looking good.By rights she should give you a bonus for doing it for her:DMr Kandy is going to be putting down wooden flooring as well so will wait and see how he gets on with having three cats walking in and out of the house just to be awkward:D

        Have a good day everyone:)

          Good morning everyone,

I hope that all of you that are feeling a bit poorly are all improving :dbgrtmb:. My chest is still troubling me a bit but I'm a lot better .

The weekend in Daventry was very enjoyable but I didn't do as well as usual. Actually, I didn't do well at all :heehee: but had a good time. Most of the three days (and evenings) was spent playing bridge but we had a free morning on Saturday and as the weather was dry and sunny I had a nice walk.

The tournament finished at 7.30 last night and instead of driving straight home I drove in the other direction up to Leicester to visit some cousins as they live only 30 miles from where I was. They did a nice meal for me (pea soup, roast chicken, roast spuds, leeks, brussels, peas, carrots and finished with apple crumble - yum yum :)) and after a very nice few hours I drove home and arrived here at 12.30. Whilst I was driving south I could see the car's external thermometer showing that the temperature was rising and it went up by 4C.

I haven't checked my diary to see what I have to do today but whatever it is can wait a bit. :heehee:

Look after yourselves and keep well :dbgrtmb:

          have a great day :D

          Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the piccie WOO, very nice trying to place what it is.

Had a wasted journey taking Amber in for her spaying op this morning. The vet decided she has an infection in her throat and has put her on a course of antibiotics. £65 and that's with a pet club discount. Not worth claiming on insurance as there is a contribution required of £60 so not worth the paperwork for £5 refund.

So the spaying Op will have to wait. If the antibiotics do not cure her cough then he said after 4 days they will put and endescope down her throat to see if anything is caught on her windpipe. He suspects however that she has caught an infection from another dog.

Shiney, sounds as though you could do with some of Ambers antibiotics that cough of yours is certainly hanging on. Do take better care of yourself. Glad your trip to Daventry went ok and your visit to your cousins too, now you need to put your feet up for the rest of the day.

Take care everyone, hope all the other coughs and colds are on the wain. Have a good day all.:)

Moyra, that's a bit of a bummer! Why don't you ask the vet to add the antibiotic bill to the spaying bill. Then it's just one bill and one contribution of £60. I'm sure if you ask them they will be happy to do it.

Because the spaying bill is not payable under the insurance I dont think anyway Shiney. Never mind she is worth every penny and this may not be the end of the bills if she has to have the endescopy! We shall have to wait and see. She is laying flat out with Steve on his bed at the moment. As soon as soon as I turn the tele off and put my radio on and go to bed myself she will then join me. Talk about have the best of both worlds.:)

              Good morning everyone,

Woo, thanks for the cowslip :dbgrtmb:. I always look forward to our ones coming up. It's interesting to see how the different colours have crossbred every year. Our range from the normal yellow through varieties of oranges and reds to deep scarlet. :hapfeet:

It's a little damp and drear today but the garden is still crying out for water.

Kandy, if you want to send a lorry down here I can fill it with leaves for you :dbgrtmb:

Moyra, I hope Amber gets better quickly

              have a great day :D
